Faye Ann McCray, age 65 of Owensville, Indiana passed away at home on May 1st.
She was born in Olney, Illinois to Edgar and Elizabeth Dowds on January 21, 1951.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Lee W. McCray of Owensville, Indiana.
She is preceded in death by her parents and infant son Michael Lee Scott and husband Bobby Scott of Olney, Illinois.
Faye is also survived by daughters: Debbie (Scott) and husband Scott Utt of Oaktown, Indiana, Brandy (Scott) and husband Jeff Candler of Vincennes, Indiana, son, Kelvin McCray, daughter, Kristina Besing and her husband Jeff, son, Kurtis McCray and daughter, Kendra McCray.
Grandchildren: Chelsey Pembleton, Kirstey Pembleton, Briley Utt, Dakota Candler, Mia Candler, Brandon Carpenter, Justin Carpenter, Gavin Besing and Zoe McCray.
Brothers: Floyd and Marjorie Dowds of Opdyke, Illinois, Joe “Archie” Dowds of Olney, Illinois.
Sisters: Iva Harmon of Olney, Illinois, Martha Morris of West Liberty, Illinois,
Sister-in-Law: Ena Jo Pembleton of Bridgeport, Illinois.
Faye was a member of Sacred Heart church in Vincennes, Indiana and a life member of the Vincennes VFW Auxiliary. She had been previously employed at Florsheim Shoe Factory in Olney, Illinois, AMF/Roadmaster of Olney, Illinois, Vincennes University of Vincennes, Indiana and Toyota Production in Princeton, Indiana.
Faye most loved being with her grandchildren during holidays and sitting on her river cabin patio with her friends. She loved Elvis, playing on the computer, making people feel special and spending time with her family. She was always uplifting and cheerful even in sickness and death.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm EST on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway. Burial will follow in Wheatland Cemetery.
