Helen Lucille “JoJo” Henderson 92, passed away at  on April 23,

 

 

Helen Lucille “JoJo” Henderson 92, passed away at 8:00 am on April 23, 2016 at Bridge Pointe Health Campus. JoJo was born on July 30, 1923 in Vincennes the daughter of Chester and Helen G. (Bell) Henderson.

JoJo attended Vincennes Consolidated #2 Grade School and was a 1941 graduate of Vincennes Lincoln High school. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ and retired from the Knox County Agricultural Stabilization Service Office with thirty- eight years of service as a Secretary. She was past Worthy Matron Eastern Star Chapter #291, Vincennes Homemakers Club #2, St. John’s UCC Women’s Guild, Daughters of Ruth, Beta Sigma Phi Preceptor Beta Epsilon Chapter, RSVP, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and former Red Cross Gray Lady. JoJo was an avid count cross stitcher and enjoyed sewing and traveling. She lived her entire lifetime on the same farm in which she was born.

Survivors include her sister, Emily Jane Marchino of Wheatland brother, Chester Eugene Henderson of Boulder, CO; five nieces, four nephews, nine great nieces, seven great nephews; six great great nephews and three great great nieces; and her extended family, Kristin Doyle, Christy Heacock, and Carmen Patrick. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Inez M. Bowman and Sara Elizabeth Henderson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home, 505 Main Street. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may visit with JoJo’s family from 9:00 am until the hour of service time of 11:00 am on Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice or the donor’s favorite charity.
