Grease build up believed to have caused a small fire at La Fiesta
Vincennes Firefighters are investigating the cause of a fire at the La Fiesta Restaurant on North 6th Street.
Fire Chief Sonny Pinkstaff was the first to arrive on the scene. He says smoke was coming from the rear of the building.
Upon entering and gaining access to the restaurant, Pinkstaff says smoke was coming from a vent over the kitchen area.
He says there was a small fire which was quickly extinguished. Firefighters set up fans to remove smoke from the building. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but Pinkstaff suspects it was the result of grease build up in vent hood.
A damage estimate was not immediately available.
