Thelma Eileen Foss, 97 of St. Francisville

Thelma Eileen Foss, at 97 of St. Francisville, passed away early Friday morning, April 1, 2016 at Aperion Care-Bridgeport. She was born January 7, 1929 in Orio, IL to George Warren Foss and wife Emma Belle (Shepard) Foss.

She was married to Ralph McCarty, James Cecil Armstrong and Ernest Hoh. All of whom have preceded her in death.

Thelma worked for her brother Dale Foss in his plumbing shop. She also worked at Allendale Gravel, Don Martin Funeral Home, Steve Gunn Grocery Store, and the Suttle Telephone Factory.

Surviving family includes: son-James D. Armstrong and wife Sara of St. Francisville; sister-in-law-Judith Foss of rural St. Francisville: son-in-law-Lee Campbell of St. Francisville: 3 grandchildren-James “Lee J” Campbell and wife Heather, Daniel Keith Campbell and wife Lora, and James Cecil Armstrong: 2 great grandchildren-Genesis Lee Campbell and Cole Lee J Campbell. There are also several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her husbands- Ralph McCarty, James Cecil Armstrong and Ernest Hoh: parents- George and Emma Foss: 5 siblings: Nile Foss and wife Bernice, Dale Foss and wife Aurelia, Helen (Foss) Tougaw and husband Charles, Alberta “Sparky” (Foss) Highsmith and husband Victor, and Jerry Roy Foss: one daughter- Jean Eileen (Armstrong) Campbell and an infant grandchild, Jerry Lee Campbell.

Thelma left these words: Life is real. Life is earnest and the grave is not its goal. Dust thou art to dust returneth was not spoken of the soul.

As per Thelma’s wishes there will be no formal services.
