The route for the State Bicentennial Torch Relay through Knox County has been released.

Frank Doughman, Co-Chair of the local Bicentennial Committee says a group of 40-runners will participate in carrying the torch into Vincennes.

Doughman says the torch will travel north on U.S. 41 to Elkhorn Road, then to Decker Rd and on toward Vincennes via Willow St and eventually arrive at Grouseland where it will remain overnight. The torch relay is the highlight of a weekend that will include a musical salute and dance centered around state history.

Doughman says the Knox County Bicentennial Committee is currently selling T-Shirts to help finance some of the events being planned for the local celebration.

The Doughman says the T-Shirts cost 15-dollars and can be purchased at the Vincennes/Knox County Visitors and Tourism Bureau or at the Chamber of Commerce office. Doughman says more information about what the local Bicentennial Committee is planning can be found on the group’s facebook page https://www.facebook.com/KnoxCo2016/photos
