Bridge 45 is proving to be an expensive project.
At last night’s County Commissioners meeting an amendment was made that left Knox County on the hook for seventy-seven hundred dollars.
The historic iron bridge that sits in between Knox and Daviess Counties is a federally funded project, obligating each county to continue with the repair work.
County Commissioner Larry Holscher says they are responsible for ten percent of the cost.
No construction has started on the bridge itself.
The approaches to each side of the bridge have had work done, but construction crews have more studies to do before they will begin updating the old iron bridge.
