Cresy Evans, Jr. 85, of 10301 Evans Road, Wheatland, Indiana passed away at 11:00 am Monday March 21, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospital.

He was born February 13, 1931 in Shoals, Indiana to Cresy & Mae (Collins) Evans Sr.

A member of the Welton Chapel United Methodist Church, he retired from Johnson Controls and had worked at Prestolite and Nugent Dairy.

Cresy enjoyed going to yard sales, auctions, and had the love of flying as he loved watching airplanes. He was a graduate of Fritchton High School and was an avid IU basketball and Colts fan. He proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include his daughters, Brenda (Stan) Hobbs of Oaktown and Peggy (Tracy) Williams of Washington; a sister, Jean Wampler of Vincennes; his companion, Pauline Edwards of Monroe City; his four grandchildren, Jessica Groteguth, Jodi Lammers, Josh Chestnut, and Heidi Tolbert;  and his eight great grandchildren, Kade Groteguth, Kolby Groteguth, Avery Lammers, Rylee Lammers, Brody Chestnut, Brooks Chestnut, Carter Tolbert, and Harper Tolbert.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Delores (Junkin) Evans; a son, Tim Evans; and his two sisters, Esther McCracken, and Izetta Keller Edmonson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday March 24, 2016 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
