Dr. Jack Earl Anderson

Dr. Jack Earl Anderson passed away on March 19, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Vincennes, Indiana on April 18, 1930 to Dr. William B. and Dorothy Meskimen Anderson.

 

His early years were spent on his grandparent’s Lake Lawrence home where the two families lived.  He graduated in 1948 from Lincoln High School.

 

Jack went to Vincennes University, Washington University and graduated from Saint Louis University School of Dentistry in 1955.  Dr. Jack was in partnership with his father and his high school friend, Dr. Harold Avra for many years. Dr. Jack Anderson is the last one of his family of nine generations of doctors that had practiced medicine and dentistry in the Vincennes area.

On August 1, 1953 he married Carla Andrews, and they had two sons. His parents are deceased and he survived by his sons Scott and Tom, daughter-in-law Connie Barmes Anderson and his longtime loving friend, Patsy Davis Campbell.

 

He was a US Navy veteran, member of the Vincennes Dental Association, Masons, past Exalted Ruler of the Elk 291, Vincennes Gun Club and  the NRA. He was an avid sportsman and fisherman, golfer, photographer and duplicate bridge player for many years.

 

Friends may visit with Jack’s family on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 from 10 am until noon at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway. A private graveside service will be held. On line condolences may be sent to Jack’s family at http://www.goodwinfamilyfh.com/.
