Vincennes Mayor proud of 2015, yet looking ahead…

The Vincennes community is continuing to work together for the betterment of the city.

That seemed to be the common theme of Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum’s State of the City address last night.

Not only did he praise finishing the 2nd street project that has been in works for 30 years, he thanked everyone in the city that made it possible.

While there was much to celebrate from 2015 the mayor proposed several different projects for 2016.

One of the is biggest goals for 2016 is to have the Riverwalk open and ready to use by the end of October.

The Mayor also proposed adding an additional $50,000 to the parks department budget.

 

 

 

Tim Salters  Meanwhile, Vincennes City Council Vice President Tim Salters said  he feels everyone would like to see The Mayor’s proposals for the year accomplished. However,  he said the council needs to be aware of what is essential…

Salters says one project he is excited about is road paving.

He said the council as a whole feels that’s the biggest issue facing the city.

Salters sad overall 2016 looks to be a promising year for the city of Vincennes.

In his speech last night the Mayor praised finishing the 2nd street project and thanked everyone in the city that made it possible.

One of the Mayor’s biggest goals for 2016 is to have the river walk open and  usable by the end of October.
