Dale L. Rogers, 87, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016, at Aperion Care in Bridgeport.   He was born February 18, 1929, in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the son of Harry and Margaret (Hosier) Rogers.   He married Jayne Stone in 1955, and they were married for 61-1/2 years.

Dale worked as a forklift operator at Witco where he worked for 30 years until his retirement.  He was a veteran with the United States Army, where he served from 1952-1954 during the Korean War with 14th Engineers Combat Battalion.  He was a lifetime member of VFW.

Preceding Dale in death were his parents and two brothers, Harry Rogers, Jr. and Charles Rogers.

Survivors include his wife, Jayne of Lawrenceville, daughter Vickie and her husband Lyle Gray of Noble, Illinois.

Anyone who knew Dale would tell you he was a mild mannered man who always put his family before himself and was the first one to volunteer if someone needed help.  He greeted everyone with a smile.  He could strike up a conversation with a complete stranger as if he had known them all his life.  He loved to raise a garden and loved to fish.  He was a patriotic soul who loved his country.
