The Vincennes Community is reaching out to help the local Salvation Army repair playground equipment after a recent incident of vandalism.

Damage to that playgroun was just one of several property damage incident that occurred across the city.  Several juveniles have been arrested in connection with the crimes.

Damage to the Salvation Army Chapel included a shattered top window, ropes around the playground were torn apart and some were made into a noose. The basketball hoop and landscaping bricks were vandalized as well.

Salvation Army Captain Laura Lunnam says without the community’s help they would have had to tap into their budget to afford the repairs.

Lunnam added that seeing how quickly the community responded to their needs is a wonderful feeling.
