Fort Sackville remembered

The George Rogers Clark National Historical Park commemorated the capture of Fort Sackville in Vincennes Thursday during a ceremony held inside the Clark Memorial.

Executive Director of the Indiana Bicentennial Commission Perry Hammock was one of the guest speakers at the ceremony. He says he’s thrilled that Vincennes continues to embrace its past, just as the state celebrates its 200th Birthday this year.

Co-Chair of the local Bicentennial Committee Mark Hill says events like these help remind Hoosiers of how far we have come as a state, and country.

100 years ago during Indiana’s 100TH Anniversary there were 22 counties that didn’t participate, but this year every county in the state is playing a role in the bicentennial celebration.
