Two cars crashed head on in Gibson County at 8:40 last night on State Road 65.
The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office says both drivers a passenger were injured in the accident near Gibson County Road 970-West.
33-year-old Jessica Perry of Mount Carmel was in an ’06 Grand Prix traveling east on 64. For an unknown reason, she drove left of center and hit a westbound 2012 Ford Focus driven by 19-year-old Austin Olvera of Mt. Carmel. He was taken to Wabash General Hospital and treated and released. A passenger, 22-year-old Heaven Simpson of Mt. Carmel was taken to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville for non life threatening injuries.
Perry had to be extricated from her vehicle and was flown by Life-Flight to St. Mary’s in Evansville.
64 was closed for two hours after the crash.
The investigation is continuing.
