Student nominees are being sought for the 2016-17 William Bierhaus Doorway Scholarship.
The scholarship will be awarded to an incoming VU freshman who is a graduate of either Lincoln High School or Rivet High School in Vincennes. The scholarship is designed for a student who would not be able to attend college without the financial assistance of the Doorway Scholarship.
Students must be nominated by an adult in the community who is familiar with the student’s academic background, community involvement, and financial need. The educational grant can amount to as much as $5,000 per school year for educational expenses.
Letters of recommendation should be sent to the Vincennes University Foundation. No special application form is required; however, the writer should also indicate why the student should be considered for the scholarship.
