Local ballot set for the May Primary

election-2016

A pair of former Democrats will be running as Republicans in May’s Knox County Primary Election. Former Knox County Councilman Tim Ellerman is running for County Commissioner in District One which is currently held by Democratic Incumbent Donnie Halter. Ellerman previously served on the Knox County Council for three terms.

David Culp is also running as a Republican for one of three at Large Seats on the Knox County Council. Culp recently served as Vincennes City Clerk-Treasurer. He lost his bid for a second term in office after choosing to run as an independent candidate and losing to Democrat Sharon Duke in the November General Election.

Joining Culp on the Republican ballot are Harry Nolting and Daniel Pfoff as candidates for County Council.

On the Democratic ticket Donnie Halter and Larry Holscher are seeking another four year term on the County Commissioners. They are both running unopposed in the primary.

Meanwhile, there are four candidates seeking the three at large seats on the County Council. Tim Crowley, Brian Downen Tom Peters and Mike Thompson are seeking their party’s nomination.

Democrat Brenda Hall is running for Knox County Treasurer while Brian Hagen is seeking a four-year term as County Coroner. Both Hall and Hagen have no opposition in the primary.
