Knox County Coroner  Brian Hagen says the cause of death of an 8-year-old child remains under investigation.

8-year-old Madison Rose Jaquet died Wednesday morning after being admitted to Good Samaritan Hospital unable to breathe.

Hagen says an autopsy conducted Thursday morning by a Certified Pathologist indicated there were no signs of any trauma to the child’s body or physical injuries.

Lab results are still pending and may take several weeks to complete.

Emergency responders were dispatched Wednesday morning after Knox County Central Dispatch received a report of a female unable to breath. Jaquet was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital where she was pronounced dead shortly before 10 am.
