Don’t drive through flooded roads

As flooding continues this week, state and local law enforcement is warning you about the dangers of driving over flooded roads. The message is nothing new, if a road appears to be flooded, don’t drive over it. You run the risk of hitting higher than expected water and your car stalling out–or worse being washed away.

In recent times, there’ve been cases of people driving through flood waters and having to be rescued or they’ve drowned.  There’ve even been incidents where barricades were moved so a vehicle could drive through a closed road.

The most recent circumstance happened this past weekend in  Johnson County when this motorist got caught in flood waters…

The man had to be rescued by Johnson County authorities.  Again, never drive through a flooded roadway.
