On Friday, Dec. 18, 2015, surrounded by his family, Paul Greentree left this world behind as he went into the arms of his awaiting Savior.

Paul was born Oct. 9, 1942, to Everett and Pearl (Briner) Greentree, both of whom, along with his younger brother, Martin, awaited his arrival in Heaven.

Paul is survived by his wife of 51 years, Norma (Griffith) Greentree; two sons, Tracy Greentree and his Kim, and Terry Greentree and his wife, Cindy, all of Lawrenceville, IL; nine grandchildren who adore him; an older brother, William; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins, that are very dear to him.

Paul grew up on a farm, and excelled at basketball while attending Decker Chapel High School, where he graduated in 1960. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Army. He proudly served his country in Vietnam from 1962-63. After Vietnam, he was stationed at Ft. Chaffee in Ft. Smith, Arkansas, where he met the love of his life.

Always a great provider for his family, Paul retired from AFT in 1994. He also started a successful business, Greentree Boots, building it from selling out of their front porch to 2 storefronts.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Vincennes. Paul has a personal relationship with his Lord and was secure in his salvation. He knew the best was yet to come.

Paul belonged to several organizations, including the VFW, 40et8, and Vincennes Masonic Lodge, #1, F & AM. A lifelong sports fan, his favorite teams were the IU Hoosiers, Chicago Bears, and the St. Louis Cardinals.
