Olive “Jeanne” Alvis, 77, of Vincennes, passed away Dec. 19, 2015, at Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville, IN.

Jeanne graduated from Fritchton High School, and went to work as a secretary for Snyder Construction. For many years, she was a homemaker, and also helped her husband at Alvis Music. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and sewing. Jeanne was a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Born Sept. 10, 1938, in Fritchton, IN, she was the daughter of Charles and Ethel (Evans) Hatton. Her parents; her husband, David Alvis, whom she married Oct. 6, 1956; her sons, Brian and Jeffrey Alvis; her grandsons, Justin and Mason Alvis; and her siblings, Charles Hatton, Jr., John Hatton, James Hatton, Margorie Lindsey, Richard Hatton, Rosemary Hatton, Billy Hatton, and Jackie Hatton preceded her.

Surviving is her son, Brett Alvis and his wife, Bobbi, of Monroe City, IN; her grandchildren, Adam, Shania, Blaise, Parker, Olivia, and Gunner Alvis; and her siblings, Edward Hatton of Crown Point, IL, Herbert Hatton of Tennessee, Larry Hatton of Kentucky, and Brenda Davis of Sullivan, IN.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 on Wednesday, at Goodwin Funeral Home. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 – 12:00 on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
