Vincennes University Associate Professor Curt Coffman,
chair of the Biology Dept., is the recipient of the national “Professor
Chan 2-Year College Award for the Engaged Teaching of Biology.”

The award is annually presented by the National Association of Biology
Teachers and presented at its annual conference that this year was in
Providence, R.I.

The award recognizes a two-year college faculty member “who has
successfully developed and demonstrated an innovative, hands-on approach in
the teaching of biology and has carried their commitment to the community.”

Coffman is an innovator who practices the “Flipped Classroom” model for VU
