North Knox Schools were placed on a temporary lockdown Wednesday afternoon as a result of an ongoing domestic incident.

Knox County Sheriff Mike Morris says 28-year-old Dustin Walters and 39-year-old Chad Scott both of Carlisle were stopped and arrested on Camp Arthur Road near North Knox Intermediate School. Morris says at no time were students or faculty in any danger. He says as a precautionary measure the schools were locked down.

The incident started around 1:30 pm when the Sheriff’s Department received a report of shots fired near the Melon Patch on U.S. 41 North. Morris says Walters and Scott were pursuing a woman in their pick-up trucks. The chase ended on Camp Arthur Road with the two men being arrested by Deputies.

Morris says a weapon was recovered from one of the vehicles the men were driving. Dustin Walters is charged with one count each of Criminal Recklessness with a firearm and Criminal Recklessness with a motor vehicle. Chad Scott is facing one count of criminal recklessness with a vehicle. Morris says Bicknell Police assisted in the incident.
