Tuesday was the annual Shop With a Cop event at the Vincennes Walmart.
The kids got the chance to shop, socialize, have lunch with a police officer and even talk to Santa Claus himself !
Each officer had $185 that they were allowed to spend on each child.
Lieutenant Steve Chesser with the Vincennes Police department says fundraising and donations are what makes this event possible.
Head Start Site Manager Portia Hockman says this event is successful every year. She also says it wouldn’t be possible without team work.
Hockman says most people would be surprised to know the children are actually more excited about the clothing they receive, rather than the toys.
