Rick D. Schroyer, age 53, of rural Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2015, in University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born December 3, 1961, in Vincennes, Indiana, the son of Wesley Schroyer and Linda (Moffitt) Collier. He married Tonya Gentry on July 24, 1982, and she survives.
Rick and his son Nathan were co-owners of Schroyer Construction Company for 30+ years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Lawrenceville.
Rick enjoyed watching Nascar races and was a big fan of #19 Carl Edwards. He enjoyed fishing and cooking.
Rick was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Reuel and Mary Schroyer and his maternal grandparents, Richard and Delphia Moffitt.
Survivors include his wife, Tonya Schroyer of rural Lawrenceville; his parents, Wesley and Susie Schroyer of rural Bloomfield, Indiana; his mother, Linda Collier of Lawrenceville; one son, Nathan Schroyer of rural Lawrenceville; two brothers, Scott (Nancy) Schroyer and Shane (Missy) Schroyer, both of rural Bloomfield, Indiana. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville.
Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Burial will take place in Lawrenceville City Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society with envelopes available through the funeral home.
