Rodney I. Massey, age 74, of rural Sumner, Illinois, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015, at his residence. He was born October 23, 1941, in Patton, Illinois, the son of Roger and Murdith (Lukins) Massey. He married Edith Wright on June 6, 1975, and she survives.

Rodney worked a supervisor for Hanson Manufacturing for 33 years in Princeton, Indiana. He also previously worked at AMF for 16 years. He was a member of Hi-Way Church of God and Vincennes Gun Club.

Preceding Rodney in death were his parents; one son, James Massey, and two brothers, Eric Massey and John Simms.

Survivors include his wife, Edith, of rural Sumner; one son, Rodney I. Massey, Jr. and his wife Liza, of Nashville, Tennessee; two daughters, Lori Massey of rural Sumner and Andrea Wilson of Bridgeport; one brother Dennis Massey and wife Judy of Vincennes, IN; one sister, Charlene Abel and husband George of Bridgeport; eight grandchildren, Audrey Metheny, Morgan Massey, Jacob Wilson, Joshua Wilson, Christian Wilson, Alexzander Wilson, Connor Massey, and Rylin Massey and one great-grandchild, Brooklyn Cooper.

Memorial service may be held Thursday morning at 11:00 AM at the Hi-Way Church of God. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at 11:00 AM.
