Helen “Bernice” Jordan, of Lawrenceville, and formerly of St. Francisville, passed awayWednesday evening, November 4, 2015, in Hospice Care at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, Indiana.

Born February 5, 1919 in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, she was the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Beuligman
Mc Dole (deceased). She married John Merle Jordan, June 22, 1938, and he preceded her in death in August, 1986. Two infant sons, (Richard and James), one grandson (Bryan Stocker), and one great-grandson (Nathan Motley) and two sisters (Annabelle Capin and Margaret Marlin) are also deceased.

Survivors include: four children-Marilyn (Michael) Stocker, Hopkinsville, KY, Charles Jordan, Lexington, KY, Michael (Suzanne) Jordan, Flat Rock, IL, and Patrick (Lisa) Jordan, Bossier City, LA, one sister-Virginia Stone, Bloomington, IN, several nieces and nephews, thirteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Bernice was a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School and Lockyear Business College in Evansville, IN and a retired Bookkeeper for Niehaus Lumber Company, Vincennes, IN.

Before moving to Lawrenceville, she was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, St. Francisville, and held several volunteer positions; Secretary for both the Church and Parish Council, Historian, and was a member of its Altar Society.

On moving to Lawrenceville, she became a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church and recently a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Lawrenceville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 AM Saturday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceville with burial to follow in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery, St. Francisville.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 5 to 7 PM at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville with Rosary Service beginning at 7 PM.

Memorials may be made to St. Lawrence Church or a charity of choice.
