On today’s Municipal Election ballot…….

(Daviess) WASHINGTON/ODON/ELNORA

The Municipal Election ballot in Daviess County is fairly light.

In Washington there are two contested City Council races.  In District 5 ,  Republican Seairra Decker and  Democrat Bill Walton  are vying for the seat being vacated by Jim Greene who is not seeking re-election.

The other race is for Washington City Council At-Large.  Three candidates are running for two seats.  Incumbents Jason Petty, a Republican, and Democrat Blake Chambers are challenged by Republican Grant Stafford.  The top two vote getters win the the offices.

Elsewhere in Daviess County, there is  Town Clerk Treasurer’s race in Odon.  Beth Haseman and Heather Ruhe are running for the position.  Three men are running for two Odon Town Council seats.  They are Chuck Krieg, James Riggins and Keith Ruhe.

In Elnora, four candidates are running for three Town Council seats.  They are; Deanna Callison, Jesse Jee Emmons, Kevin Hostetter and Jefferey Jerrels.

 

 

 


 

 

In Vincennes on this election day voters will go to the polls today to choose candidates running for Clerk-Treasurer and City Council in Vincennes. While Bicknell voters will select a new mayor.

In Vincennes, all eyes will be on the clerk-treasurer’s race where incumbent David Culp is seeking re-election to a second term against Democrat challenger Sharon Duke.

A long-time Democrat, Culp opted to run as an independent candidate to avoid a primary battle with Duke. Duke currently serves as Knox County Treasurer. Prior to that she served 14-years in the auditor’s office. The third candidate is Republican Randy Crismore, a retired Vincennes city police officer and current member of the Knox County Council.

There are also contested races for seats on the Vincennes city council. Democrat Chuck Sebring is being challenged in District One by Republican Brian Grove. Republican Ashley Morris who was appointed to her seat on the council faces a challenge from Democrat Dan Ravellette and in a rematch From four years ago….Democrat Tim Thompson is once again challenging Republican incumbent Tim Salters for the District 5 council seat.

For Vincennes City Council at large, democratic incumbents Duane Chattin and Shirley Rose are being challenged by Republicans Ryan Lough and Michael Woods.

Meanwhile in Bicknell, voters will choose between Democrat Thomas Estabrook and Republican Ray Hooten for Mayor. Incumbent Jon Flickinger chose not to seek another term in office.

For Bicknell Clerk-Treasurer, Democratic incumbent Becky McGlone is being challenged by Republican Sandra Campbell.

Its a crowded field for the lone at large seat on the Bicknell City Council. Democrat Wally Cullen, Republican Aaron (Bow-Lard) Boulard, along with independent candidates Daniel McCrary and Walter(Johnny) Jones are all competing for that council seat.

In Bicknell District One: Republican Rod Mullins faces Democrat Rick Hagen, In District 2 incumbent Republican Butch Byrer is being challenged by Democrat Matthew Brough and independent candidate Stacy Allen and in District 4 Republican John Vendes, Democrat Michael Whitson and Independent candidate Randy (Rayz-ner) Rasner are competing for a seat on the council.

 

 


 

(Knox) OAKTOWN/WHEATLAND/SANDBORN/BRUCEVILLE

 

In Oaktown, Republican Shelley Clark and Democrat Peggy Blann are running for Clerk-Treasurer.  Town Council Candidates include Republican Randy Rinsch and Democrats Corey Morgan and Roert Bolenbaugh.

In Wheatland Democrat Angela Elkins and Republican Stacy Ramsey are running for Clerk Treasurer. Wheatland Town Council Candidates are Democrats Joseph Moore and Wilma Small and Republican Danny Wathen

In Sandborn there’s a Clerk-Treasurer’s race with Republican Dana Wright and Democrat Staci Rich.  Town Council candidates are Republicans Glen apple and Lori Gonzalez and Democrats Jimmie Yagle and Ralph Heshelman.

In Bruceville the town council candidates are Democrats Daniel Potts and Brandon Riggle and Republicans Andrew Steffy and Howard Lanam.

 

 

 


 

 

PETERSBURG

In Petersburg voters will be choosing their candidates for Mayor.  Republican Incumbent RC Klispsch is being challenged by Democrat Stacy Mosby.  Kilpsch was appointed Mayor when the his predecessor stepped down for personal reasons.  This is the first time Klipsch has been on a ballot for Mayor.

For City Council District 2, Republican John Melhiser is being challenged by Democrat Sandy Lee McBeth.  In District 3 Republican Gary Evans is challenging long time council member Democrat Bertie Jenkins.

For County Council At Large the candidates are Democrat Incumbent Fran Lewis and Republican Challenger Rick Ross.

 

 

 


 

 

 

LOOGOOTEE

 

There is only one contested race in Loogootee on this Election Day.

Republican Marty Tarrh faces Democrat Roger S. Downy for Loogootee City Council At Large.
