Jeffrey “Pete” Curtis Van Meter, 56, Terre Haute, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Pete was born October 14, 1959, in Cocoa Beach, FL, the son of David R. and Barbara (Mattingly) Van Meter. He previously worked in the assembly line at Sony in Terre Haute. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting, camping, gardening, and cooking.
Pete is survived by his best friend and companion, Tammy Myrtle; parents, David and Barbara; daughters, Lacey Myrtle and Dusti Van Meter, both of Terre Haute; grandsons, Maron and Eli Mitchell; brother, John Van Meter of Freelandville; sisters, Joan Puckett and her husband Brian, of Oaktown, and Jacki Gandy and her husband Rick, of Edwardsport.
