The Vincennes Parks Board is taking over as host of the Knox County Triathlon. In years past, the Knox County Community Foundation has hosted the event, but the parks board is being passed the torch and will sponsor the 10th annual TRY next June. Parks Department Superintendent Steve Beaman believes it is a natural fit and gives them an opportunity to provide residents another avenue for a healthier lifestyle.
The triathlon features a 200 meter swim, 10 mile bike ride, and a 5K run. The event is for ages 13 and above. Individuals can compete on their own, or partner up with friends to create a team. The funds raised from this event are used for the betterment of Knox County. The parks department will release more details regarding the TRY at a later date.
