Wayne E. Arney, 77, passed away at 9:05 pm on October 16, 2015 at Daviess Community Hospital in Washington. Wayne was born on April 14, 1938 in Knox County the son of Wade and Ginevieve (Banks) Arney. He married Mary Zoe Tolliver and she preceded him in death in 1995, he then married Ginger Springer Painter on July 2, 1995.
Wayne was a member of Upper Indiana Presbyterian Church and was a supervisor at Essex Wire where he was their oldest employee. He also was a member of the American Legion, Vincennes Gun Club and enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, camping and mushroom hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Ginger Arney; daughters, Janice Crane and her husband Ray of Martinsville, IL, Rebecca Gail Weber and her husband Jeff of Vincennes; step children, Ginny Conrad and her husband Bob of St. Francisville, IL, Grady Painter and his wife Linda of Lawrenceville; brother, Don Arney and his wife Pat of Vincennes; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 26, 2015 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway with Pastor Bob Tipton officiating. Burial will follow in Bruceville Cemetery. Friends may visit with Wayne’s family from 10:00 amuntil the hour of service time of 11:00 am at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Lebra Indian School in Montana.
