Washington Man Injured in Saturday Evening Accident

A rural Washington man was injured in a Saturday evening accident​.

​At 6:33 p.m. Saturday evening, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department received a report of an accident on CR 100 W near the intersection with CR 550 S.  According to the report from the Sheriff’s Department, 45 year old Eric Hacker of rural Washington was northbound and failed to negotiate a curve.  His car crossed the center and ran off the road, striking two parked vehicles and came to rest blocking both lanes of traffic.  When First Responders arrived, Hacker was unconscious, and trapped in his car.  A strong odor of alcohol was reported in the vehicle.  Witnesses to the accident say that it appeared that Hacker was asleep at the time of the accident.  Hacker was transported by ambulance to Daviess Community Hospital and then transferred to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
