Enrollment at Vincennes University is up systemwide.
Kristi Deetz, Senior Director of External relations at Vincennes University say enrollment is up nearly 17-percent. However, she told the VU Board of Trustees on Monday that those numbers are still in flux until the official reporting day on October 15th.
Deetz acknowledged that enrollment is down slightly on both the Vincennes and Jasper Campuses.
Deetz says the VU main campus is down 320 students compared to a year ago, and Jasper is down 44. She says there were fewer first time freshman enrolling, but in Knox County they actually enrolled more freshman.
Deetz noted that while full-time enrollment is down they’ve seen a spike in the number of part-time students taking classes. She noted those increases were reflected in VU’s military and Early College programs.
