Man escapes serious injury in car/train collision

On September 15, 2015, at 3:15 p.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a report of a car versus training accident on CR 725 East near CR 150 South in Francisco, Indiana. Upon arriving on scene Sheriff Timothy Bottoms opened an accident investigation. Sheriff Bottoms stated that a Black 2009 Lincoln 4 door passenger car was Northbound on CR 725 East and failed to see the westbound Norfolk Southern Train. The driver of the passenger car, 35 year old Brandon Paris of Princeton, Indiana was transported to Deaconess Downtown by Gibson County Medics for treatment for a head injury. Mr. Paris is believed to have nonlife threatening injuries.

Assisting Sheriff Bottoms in his investigation of the incident were representatives from Norfolk Southern, the Francisco Fire Department, and the Gibson County Ambulance Service.
