Marjorie Rose Barker, age 96 of Lawrenceville and formerly of Bridgeport, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the United Methodist Village-Main Campus. She was born December 11, 1918 in Mt. Carmel to Eugene and Josephine (Bass) Creek.
She married William Lyle Barker, and he preceded her in death in 1985.
Marge was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and enjoyed horseback trail riding. She retired from Victor Dana, drove a school bus for Unit 10, and then sat with and gave assistance to the elderly needing help.
Survivors include: her son- Billy Barker and his wife Jackie of Bridgeport: one grandson- Joey Barker of Bridgeport: and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her husband- William Lyle Barker: her parents- Eugene and Josephine Creek: five brothers- Robert, Claude, Harvey, Marion, and Harold Creek.
A funeral service for Marjorie Rose Barker will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at the Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Bethel Cemetery.
