Beatrice Orrell

Beatrice Orrell, born October 25, 1921 in Carlyle, IL, passed onto glory on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the United Methodist Village-North Campus.

Proceding her in death were her parents, Claude and Mary (Buchele) Orrell, and her brother, Earl Orrell.

Bea was ordained as a United Methodist Deaconess in the Rocky River Conference, Naperville, IL on June 27, 1952. Through the years she was a school teacher in many places: Hawaii- Mercy Center; Chicago, IL- Leslie Bates Neighborhood House; East St. Louis; Tarpon Springs, FL; and possibly other schools. She retired from Deaconess’ service in November of 1983 to helping others wherever she lived.

Bea moved to the United Methodist Village- South Campus in June of 1997 in an independent living apartment. In January of 2012, she moved to the United Methodist Village-North Campus’ extended living apartment.

She is survived by and will be missed by her North Campus friends and caregivers, Jim and Kay Hague.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at United Methodist Village-North Campus Chapel. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 1:30 p.m. Cunningham-Young Funeral Home of Lawrenceville will be handling the services.
