Regional cities’ grant would benefit Knox, Sullivan and Vigo Counties

Knox County, Sullivan County, and Vigo County all partnered to apply for the Regional Cities grant through the IEDC on Monday. There are 7 total request in the state of Indiana and about 3.7 billion dollars that has been outlined in the plan for the state. KCDC President Kent Utt says the plan for our areas request is take advantage of the Wabash River which is something KCDC feels they haven’t taken full advantage of. Along with that, they are looking to enhance some already great attractions in Vincennes.

Overall Utt says this areas grant was the smallest of the seven. He said the main focus of this grant is talent attraction and to grow the population. He said their goal is to increase Knox, Sullivan, and Vigo counties to around 200,000 people.
