Basil Eugene Harvey, 65, passed away at 1:27 pm on August 31, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Basil was born on February 26, 1950 in Washington, IN the son of Francis and Christina (Fowler) Harvey. He married Mary Wright on November 6, 1971.
Basil served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam War Veteran. He was a member of Calvary Apostolic Church in Lawrenceville, IL and loved to spend time with his family. Basil enjoyed fishing, going out to eat, going to church and being with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of forty three years, Mary (Wright) Harvey; a son, Jesse Harvey and his wife Sandi of Bicknell, son, Jeremy Harvey and his wife Sara of Vincennes; daughter, Rhonda Butler and her husband Brian of Bicknell; ten grandchildren, and four great grandsons; sister, Pamela Osbourn and her husband Larry of Flat Rock, IL, sister, Mary Perry of Lawrenceville, IL; brother, Frank Harvey and his wife Rhonda of Lawrenceville, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Basil will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home, 505 Main Street, Vincennes, IN with Pastor Jason Donaldson officiating.
