Glenna L. Carter, 85, passed away at 2:05 am on Friday, August 28, 2015 at the Woodlands in Newburgh, IN. Glenna was born on May 11, 1930 in Lawrence County, IL the daughter of Esco J. and Sarah Louise (Gullic) Potts. She married John H. Carter on February 14, 1952.
Glenna retired from Vincennes University as a nursing instructor and was a member of Community United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the R.N. Club of Vincennes and the Vincennes Elks.
Survivors include her husband, John Carter of Newburgh; daughter, Darla Plahn and her husband Bill of Newburgh; son, David Carter and his wife Beth of Sugarland, TX; sister, Sue Clark of O’Fallon, IL; grandchildren, Brett Carter, Tyler Carter and his wife Kristen, Clay Carter, Cody Royster and wife Ashley, Jacob Royster; and great granddaughter, Ella Royster. Glenna was preceded in death by her parents, brother, William Potts and sister, Fayetta Baehnk.
Funeral services for Glenna will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 31, 2015at Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home, 505 Main with Rev. Cheryl Garbe officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with Glenna’s familyon Sunday from 2-4 pm at Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home.
