Vincennes University officials are mulling over preliminary enrollment numbers for the upcoming school year.

VU Interim President Chuck Johnson says the early numbers were looking good. He says applications were up and reservations for campus visits had also increased. But by mid-summer, Johnson says those early numbers slumped.

Johnson says finding ways to keep students from dropping out will be a major focus moving forward. He says they need to identify those students early in the process and get them the help they need in order to become successful academically.

Students can start moving into residence halls today (Thursday). Registration will continue through the weekend with the first day of classes set for Monday.
