Two Vincennes firefighters were honored for their bravery both on and off duty. Mayor Joe Yochum and Fire Chief Sonny Pinkstaff awarded Brock Cardinal the Life Saving Award and and James Beaman The Meritorious Conduct Award. s Beaman assisted in the arrest of felon during a police chase. During the Pursuit Beaman used the red ford battalion truck to block the intersection of 6th street and Dubois street. This action saved property damage and possibly the life of a civilian.
Brock Cardinal saved the life of fellow Fire Fighter when he was off duty by giving him the Heimlich Maneuver after he began chocking. Both men were honored at the Vincennes city council meeting last night.
