Richard “Dick” W. Tiek

Richard “Dick” W. Tiek, 86, of Vincennes, passed away peacefully at his home on July 25, 2015.

Dick graduated from Bicknell High School in 1947, and received his bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University in 1954. During the Korean War, he served in the US Army as a M.P. A retired teacher, he impacted many of his students’ lives at Lincoln High School, where he taught in the industrial arts department. Dick enjoyed golfing and woodworking.

Born March 26, 1929, he was the son of Walter and Helen (Deppe) Tiek. His parents; his father and mother-in-law, Claude and Dollie Thompson; brothers, Walter “Bud” and Robert “Bob” Tiek; a sister, Miriam Speelman; nephew, Mark Tiek; and a niece, Carla Tiek, preceded.

Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Jeanette (Thompson) Tiek; his daughter, Susan Maher and her husband, Bob; his son, Steve Tiek and his wife, Cindy; grandchildren, Patrick Tiek, Bridget Dupuis, Jaclyn Maher, and Danielle Maher; a brother, Paul Tiek and his wife, Debbie; nieces, Vicki Echele and her husband, Denis, Stephanie Mischler, and Sharie Westhafer and her husband, Bob; and nephews, Chris Tiek and Dale Tiek and his wife, Jane.

Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 – 8:00 on Monday, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway. The funeral will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, at 10:00. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
