Indiana Landmarks will present its Western Region Preservation Award to the Knox County Public Library for their outstanding rehabilitation of the historic Carnegie library in Vincennes.

The presentation will take place prior to the Library Board’s regular monthly meeting next Tuesday, July 21st at 4 p.m.

The 230-thousand dollar project consisted of restoring some of the original features of the 1919 building that had been obscured for decades by a dropped ceiling, carpeting, and other alterations.

Once completed, the public could can now the inspiring space as it was originally designed. The award presentation will be held in the library’s Carnegie wing and the public is welcome to attend.
