John Robert Bedford
February 12, 1938 – July 15, 2015
John Bedford, 77, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at home in Vincennes. John was “Dad” to four and “Grandpa” to six. With a vast vocabulary and a creative mind for writing, he spent years as the sports editor for both The Vincennes Sun Commercial, and The St. Petersburg Times. He had a passion for amateur photography and a true appreciation for anything sports related.
Always prepared with a quick quip such as “Nothin’ shakin’ but the leaves on the trees,” John will be remembered by most and missed by many.
John was preceded in death by his son, John Max Bedford. Surviving are his daughters, Janet Finch and her husband William, Betsy Glaser and her husband Ryan, and son Scott Bedford; grandchildren Isabella and Austin Finch, Jack and Ella Glaser and Chance and Ali Bedford. He is also survived by his cousins Emily Sohaney, Mark Theriac, Matt Theriac, and Janet Theriac.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 3:00 pm, at Goodwin Funeral Home on Saturday, July 18, followed by a Memorial Service at 3:30 pm.
