Many of the Vincennes police department vehicles are in bad shape. Mayor Joe Yochum addressed the issue during last night’s city council meeting. Yochum requested that the council approve the spending of river boat gambling dollars and some edit dollars to purchase 4 more police cars. Yochum said they currently buy two new vehicles a year but that he wants to see that change.
Each police car can cost up to 40,000 dollars. The police department is looking at possibly adding a few trucks to their fleet of vehicles, which have a higher trade in value than the patrol cars.
