Romina G. Thomas-Hartzburg, 89, passed away at 6:56 am on July 8, 2015 at BridgePointe Health Campus. Romina was born on April 28, 1926 in Knox County the daughter of Cecil and Helen (Wheeler) Gilbert. She married Edmond Thomas on March 24, 1950 and he preceded her in death on January 7, 1994. She then married William Hartzburg on April 28, 2006 and he preceded her in death on July 4, 2008.
Romina was a bookkeeper for Meadow Gold Dairy for many years and then for Lynn Oil Company retiring in 1988. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed going to auctions and needlework. Her wonderful personality will be missed by all of her family and friends that loved her. Romina’s family would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of the staff at BridgePointe for the loving care they showed her.
Survivors include her sisters, Alice Peters of Vincennes, Elsie Holloway and her husband Ed of Vincennes, Donna Hall and her husband Harold of Vincennes, Patty Boyd and her husband Marvin of Vincennes, several nieces and nephews and friend Robert Hartzburg of Vincennes. Romina was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Edmond Thomas, second husband, William Hartzburg, and brother’s Dale Gilbert and Joshua “Jack” Gilbert.
Funeral services for Romina will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway with Pastor Garret Sloan officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with Romina’s family on Saturday from 11:00 am until the hour of service time of 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
