A Combat Veteran is asking the community to come out and plant a flag to Honor America’s Heroes.
Frank Medlen Junior was looking for a way to honor soldiers who died in the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts when he struck upon an idea.
Medlen is inviting the public to stop by his home next Thursday, July 2nd starting at 8 am and plant a flag in his front yard to honor America’s War Dead.
Medlen says he’s being assisted in this effort by members of Lincoln High School’s Junior ROTC Program, Vincennes Police and Fire Departments.
Flags will be available to plant….Medlen says they are hoping to plant over 68 hundred flags which represent the number of troops who’ve been lost in fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Flag display will remain up through the 4th of July Weekend.
