Theodore J. “Ted” Baxter, 78 of St. Francisville, IL, loving husband, father, and grandfather was called to his heavenly home on Wednesday, June 17, 2015.
Ted was born on June 20, 1936 in Buhl, Idaho to Ted and Ada (Finney) Baxter. He was a 1954 graduate of St. Francisville High School. He was a member of Local #103 Ironworkers in Evansville until he became owner of Baxter Steel Erectors in 1979.
Ted was a 50 year member of the Elks Club in Lawrenceville and a Social Member of St. Francisville Legion Post 947. Ted became a member of the United Methodist Church in St. Francisville in 1950.
He is survived by: his wife of 58 years- Peggy Chattin Baxter: one son-John Gregory Baxter and his wife Jennifer of St. Francisville: one granddaughter- Whitney Allender and her husband Cody of Bridgeport: one grandson- Jeffrey Baxter of St. Francisville: one sister- Judy Ferris and her husband Dean of Jasper, GA: and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Jeffrey Joe Baxter.
A funeral service for Ted Baxter will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in St. Francisville. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the church as well. Masonic rites will be given during the visitation at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. Burial will take place in Oaklawn cemetery. Cunningham-Nichols Funeral Home of St. Francisville is in charge of arrangements.
