Frances Florence (Kotowki) Veltman

Frances Florence (Kotowski) Veltman, 99, Bicknell, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Frances was born October 31, 1915, in Cleveland, OH, the daughter of Joe and Helen (Bleasdale) Kotowski. She married Richard Carl Veltman. Frances and Richard and their family moved to Texas from Ohio in 1945. They built the Sun Lodge, which were apartments for winter tourists. Summers were for travel. In later years, Frances and Richard traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada. They visited most of the National and State Parks in 46 of the 50 states. Frances and her daughter Ann toured northern and southern Europe in the late 1980s and it was one of the highlights of her life. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, painting, and cooking.
Frances is survived by her daughter, Joan Cook and husband William of Bicknell; grandsons, Christopher Cook and wife Amy of Princeton and Collin Cook of Loogootee; great-grandchildren, Devin Cook and wife Lacey, Tyler, Ryan, Tristan, Krystal Cook, Joshua and Samantha Cook; great-great-grandson, Aiden Cook; and nephews, Jerry Rockow and wife Joy and David Rockow and wife Beverly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; parents; daughter, Harriett Ann Rogers; one sister; and one brother.
Per Frances’ request, she will be cremated with a memorial service at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home Bicknell Chapel.
