Phyllis V. Stoltz, age 89, of Sumner, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at her residence. She was born December 12, 1925, in Dunbar, West Virginia, the daughter of Fred L. and Stella (Neeley) Erwin. She married Harold W. Stoltz on March 4, 1946, and he passed away May 28, 1984.
Phyllis owned and operated Phyllis’ Beauty Shop from 1971-1982. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sumner. She was very active in the United Methodist Women’s Society and sang in a church trio.
Preceding Phyllis in death were her parents; her husband, Harold; and four brothers, Robert F., Eugene D., Fred L. and Donald E.
Survivors include three sons, David Stoltz of Florida, Curtis Stoltz of New York, and Dana Stoltz of Florida; one daughter, Libby Lathrop of Ohio; seven grandchildren Lori Montgomery, Gregg Lathrop, Jamie (Stoltz) Barbee, Nathan Stoltz, Jonathan Stoltz, Jennifer Stoltz, Ginger Stoltz, and Jody Harshman, as well as six great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Monday evening from 5 to 8 PM at Sivert-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Sumner.
Private services are being conducted.
Burial will take place in Crest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
