Gary L. Jones, 69, of Washington, passed away Tuesday at 1:15 p.m. at his residence.
He was born Aug. 3, 1945, in Washington, to Acel A. Jones and Catherine (McIntire) Jones.
Gary was a 1963 Washington High School graduate. He loved fishing, camping, and hunting. He was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds, IU, and Washington Hatchets. He retired from CSX Railroad.
Gary is survived by his wife Diane F. (Boger) Jones, whom he married July 11, 1990; his mother and stepfather, Catherine and William Ed Taylor of Washington; children, Angela (Joe) Clauss, Shelley (Pete) Ryan, Chris (Pam) Jones, Jason (Charlotte) Jones, Jarrod (Hayley) Kohn; grandchildren, Nicholas “Nick” Clauss, Catherine “Katie” Wilson, Shawn Ryan, Connie Jones, Zach Westfall, Logan Jones, Darian Jones, Jayven Jones; and one great-granddaughter, Avree Westfall.
He is preceded in death by a son, Casey Lee Jones, Aug. 11, 1988 – April 1990.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Ed Lee Mortuary. Entombment will follow at Sugarland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
