Robert ‘Bob’ Wayne Nestleroad, age 74, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born on December 24, 1945 in Vincennes, Indiana, the son of Robert and Lillian (Hedge) Nestleroad. He married Deborah Adams on June 11, 1983 and she survives.

Bob was sworn in on January 2, 1970 with the City of Lawrenceville and remained a patrol officer until February 19, 1996, when he was appointed as Chief of Police. He retired with the City on January 2, 1998. Bob then accepted a position with the City of Bridgeport as a patrolman and then Chief, retiring on September 23, 2005. He also worked for the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department until his retirement. His hobbies included fishing in Canada, skeet shooting, hunting quail and rabbits with his sporting dogs, as well as playing golf, pool, and cards. He was loving husband and proud of Deborah and her healthcare career as a Registered Nurse at Good Samarian Hospital. His memberships included the Hi-Way Church of God, Lawrence County Country Club, Elks Lodge #1208, and VFW.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Raymond Nestleroad.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah; one son, Rob Nestleroad and wife, Gerilyn of Terre Haute, Indiana; one step-son, Matthew Wayne Golf and wife, Renée of Indiana; and four grandchildren, Logan Nestleroad, Hunter Nestleroad, Cliffton Tewell, and Patrick Sutton.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 2:00 PM CST at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois, which may be found with the following link: https://www.facebook.com/Emmons-Macey-Steffey-Funeral-Home-Burial-Cremation-Services-241234759332208/. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM CST at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Lawrence County Community Thanksgiving Day Meal.
